Tymrak snags SEC weekly honor

Making her first appearance since suffering a sprained ankle on Sept. 21, Gators senior midfielder Erika Tymrak played a part in both of Florida’s game-winning goals last week to earn Southeastern Conference Co-Offensive Players of the Week honors.

Tymrak scored the 74th-minute winner in No. 18 UF’s 2-0 win at LSU last Friday and then assisted on Adriana Leon’s go-ahead goal in the 2-1 win at No. 5 Texas A&M on Sunday.

The Gators have now won seven straight SEC games, with Tymrak second on the team with 10 points on the season.

She shared the league’s offensive honor this week with Missouri forward Allyssa Diggs, who scored two goals, including the overtime winner, in the Tigers’ 2-1 win against Kentucky last week.

The other SEC weekly honors handed out Monday were to Tennessee’s Ali Hall for Defensive Player of the Week and to Ole Miss’ Jessica Hiskey for Freshman of the Week.
