Lacroix and Slilam run in ITAs ends

TULSA, Okla. – The Florida men’s tennis team saw an impressive performance by ninth-ranked Alexandre Lacroix come to an end Saturday at the ITA/D’Novo All American Championships hosted by the University of Tulsa.

Lacroix, a senior from Paris, France, advanced to the quarterfinals of the national singles tournament for the second consecutive year before succumbing to Virginia’s Alex Domijan, 6-3, 6-4. The loss was Lacroix’s first of the fall season.

Lacroix and junior Nassim Slilam, ranked 20th as a double team, ended their first national event by dropping a 6-4, 6-3 decision to the No. 19 team of Chase Buchanan and Blaz Rola of Ohio State.

The Gators are next in action Oct. 21-25 as they host the USTA/ITA Southeast Regional Championships at the Linder Stadium/Ring Tennis Complex. That event is an individual tournament featuring participants from Division I schools in Florida and Georgia. It will feed into November’s USTA/ITA National Collegiate Individual Indoor Championships in Flushing, N.Y.
