Darnell Stapleton has joined the UF staff and will coach the offensive line, Billy Napier has announced. Napier previously said that he would hire two offensive line coaches, so Stapleton's exact role is still unknown. 

Billy Napier has hired Jamar Chaney as an analyst, UF announced on Sunday. He will work with the linebackers. Chaney previously worked for UF as the assistant director of player personnel in 2019.

Gators redshirt freshman quarterback Anthony Richardson and redshirt freshman punter Jeremy Crawshaw have been named to the All-SEC Freshman Team.

Gators starting wide receiver Jacob Copeland has entered the transfer portal.

The Gators bounced back from their embarrassing loss to Texas Southern by playing hard for all 40 minutes against North Florida. Their 28 forced turnovers propelled them to an 85-55 win.

Billy Napier has been named as one of 13 finalists for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award.

Through the first seven games of the season, the Gators forged an identity of playing terrific defense, fighting for loose balls and rebounds, and being mentally and physically tough. They strayed from that identity in their blowout loss to Texas Southern on Monday night.

“I think when it all is said and done, we're going to put together a truly elite group of people here that will impact the players.” Billy Napier plans to take advantage of the large salary pool he's been given for his staff.
