Junior linebacker Vosean Joseph will skip his senior season at the University of Florida and will declare for the NFL Draft.
“My family, teammates, coaches and the University of Florida means everything to me,” Joseph wrote on twitter. “My mom and Dad have always told me to go after my dreams and this is why I’m writing this letter today. I plan to forgo my senior year to declare for the NFL Draft.”
ESPN’s Mel Kiper ranks Joseph the No. 6 outside linebacker. Joseph led the Gators with 93 tackles this season, including 9 tackles for a loss, 4 sacks, 4 pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
Joseph announced himself to Gator Nation with a bone-crushing hit on LSU quarterback Danny Etling in Baton Rouge.
Joseph played in all 13 games with one start as a sophomore. He had 55 tackles, 4 for a loss, 1 pass breakup and one forced fumble. This season Joseph started every game for the Gators.
“Over the past three years I’ve developed so much as a player but even more as a person, and things like that is what makes me appreciate the University of Florida so much more” Joseph continued. “Without Coach Luke, Coach Berg, Coach Shannon, Coach Rumph, Coach Rob and Coach Mullen I wouldn’t be in this position today. To end my three years with Gator Nation the way we did has been a revelation for me on the field and I’ve learned the real meaning of hard work and family. The atmosphere here at Florida has raised the standard of everyone on our team and how great each individual can be.”
