The Freak II in action

It has been a little over a decade since the original “Freak” roamed the defensive side of the ball for the Florida Gators. Jevon Kearse was a mainstay on defense in the mid 90’s at Florida with his freakish size and speed. A decade later, there seems to be the next big time physical freak that should wreak havoc on opposing SEC offenses. This spring sophomore Carlos Dunlap made huge strides as a defensive end for the Florida Gators and Gator Country has a short highlight compilation of what to expect from the “Freak II”.

Dunlap stands 6-6 and weighs 290 pounds a height and weight most would project for players protecting the quarterback.  Then you look at him and watch him move and you realize, ths guy can be a complete menace on defense.

In the Orange and Blue Debut he played almost the entire game and came away with four sacks in front of a national TV audience. Last week Dunlap was clocked in the 4.6 second range in the 40 yard dash on campus.  After watching these highlights, I believe most can believe that, even if others didn’t when it was reported.
