Reidel Anthony joins Trinity Catholic staff

Gator Country has learned that former University of Florida All-American wide receiver Reidel Anthony has been hired to coach the wide receivers at Trinity Catholic High School in Ocala. Anthony, who played five years in the National Football League, coached high school football in Tampa last year and formerly coached wide receivers at Valdosta State.

“This is a great day for Trinity Catholic football,” Coach John Brantley, a former University of Florida quarterback, told Gator Country executive editor Buddy Martin. “Reidel Anthony was a great college football player at the University of Florida. He is a Gator legend, but more important, he is an outstanding person and a fine football coach. What he brings to the table at Trinity Catholic can’t be measured in terms of experience, teaching and of course, what he will do to make a difference in the lives of the young people who play football for us.”

Anthony’s first assignment will be to work with Kadron Boone, one of the nation’s top prep wide receivers. Boone has an offer sheet that is a Who’s Who in college football, a list that includes 2009 national champion Florida and Texas Tech.

“Kadron Boone is a great player with unlimited potential,” Brantley said. “I’m sure he’s going to learn and improve with Reidel as his coach. Of course, we’re certain all our receivers will learn and improve. He’s a fine football coach.”
