Photo Gallery: Gator Charity Challenge

The Florida football team wrapped up a summer of strength and conditioning workouts by competing in the fourth-annual Gator Charity Challenge event at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Friday.

The team was be split into six squads, drafted by the players. The squads competed against each other in a sled push, torpedo hold and tug-of-war competition. The event concluded with a full-team push-up competition.

The team captained by Trey Burton, Frankie Hammond, Jon Harrison, Jaye Howard and Jelani Jenkins, won the event by winning the sled push competition and finishing second in the torpedo hold.

Walk-on fullback Jesse Schmitt won the push-up competition by outlasting Chris Rainey and Jeremy Brown in the final.

More than 650 pounds of canned food was donated by fans as a food drive for the Salvation Army of Alachua County and volunteers collected numerous personal hygiene products for the Salvation Army to donate to the homeless and families in need.
