Jeff Driskel Interview Notebook

HOOVER, Ala.- Jeff Driskel notebook from SEC media days:

-Nothing else in his life changes now that he has signed with the Red Sox.

-His girlfriend also hunts hogs, she gets one when they go out, but his is always bigger.

-He didn’t take Louisville lightly, they simply beat them.

-He doesn’t worry about Clowney, he doesn’t block him.

-He likes being a leader and in everything during the spring was centered around him thanks to no QB competition.

-Driskel likes the continuity of not having to worry about a coaching change on the offense.

-He’ll have to be more careful with the ball when he scrambles, it’ll be important for him to throw the ball away and slide if he needs to get a first down.

-Last year he knows the team fell a little short in the SEC East but this year they feel up to it.

-He has all the potential in the world and is excited about Demarcus Robinson.

-Demarcus Robinson is a guy that the national media doesn’t know about but is a guy who will contribute.

-He thinks he is most like Russell Wilson of NFL QB’s, says Pease makes them watch a lot of Seahawks tape.

-He hasn’t really studied Alabama, Florida doesn’t play them, he hasn’t seen them on tape.

-Of the other SEC quarterbacks, he likes James Franklin and Tyler Russell. He was able to spend time with them at the Manning passing camp.

-Florida’s biggest rival in his opinion? Georgia.

-Demarcus Robinson being in school early is key. He’s someone that stands out and it’s good that he was able to learn schemes and terminology.

-Being a leader isn’t something he feels you magically know how to do, it comes with time and effort and it isn’t just a flipped switch, it grows over time.

Richard Johnson
Richard lives in Gainesville and prides himself in being a bonafide lifelong Alachua County Resident. He attends the University of Florida and is in his third year studying Telecommunications. He isn’t sure how he started loving football being the son of two immigrants that don’t care about the sport, but he has developed a borderline unhealthy obsession with it. In his free time, Richard watches other sports and is an avid fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and Tampa Bay Rays. He doesn’t like chocolate, knows Moe’s is better than Chipotle and drinks way too many Arnold Palmers. He also took up golf in the summer of 2012. That pursuit isn’t going well.
