GatorCountry.com has been able to confirm with sources close to the team a report that Bush Hamdan will be leaving the Florida Gators’ football team.
Hamdan, who was the interim receivers coach at Florida this season, is expected to accept a job coaching receivers at Arkansas State for new head coach Bryan Harsin, who spent 10 seasons coaching at Boise State. The story first appeared on the coaching search.com.
According to one source, Florida offensive coordinator Brent Pease was instrumental in getting Hamdan the job. Hamdan played quarterback and worked as a graduate assistant at Boise State.
Gators coach Will Muschamp said Hamdan will stay on with the team until Wednesday, when No. 3 Florida plays No. 22 Louisville in the Sugar Bowl at 8:30 p.m.
Hamdan spent the past season serving as interim receivers’ coach at Florida after Aubrey Hill’s suddenly resigned on Aug. 2, citing personal reason. Florida hired Joker Phillips on Dec. 3.
