Fresh off a 14-6 upset victory against LSU, the Florida Gators football team moved up six spots to No. 4 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll.
It’s the first time since the 2010 preseason poll that the Gators are in the top 5. They were No. 4 in that poll.
Florida improved to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in Southeastern Conference play. The Gators rallied from a halftime deficit to win for the third time this season.
LSU dropped from No. 4 to No. 9 after its streak of 18 consecutive regular season wins came to an end. Defending BCS Alabama retained the top spot in the poll followed by Oregon at No. 2 and South Carolina is No. 3.
The SEC owns three of the top 4 spots and Florida becomes the fifth different SEC team to be ranked among the top 5 this season. Georgia and LSU were the others.
Other SEC teams in the current Top 25 are No. 14 Georgia, No. 19 Mississippi State and No. 22 Texas A&M.
