Florida tumbled from third to 11th after its 31-6 loss to Alabama, which remained the No. 1 team in the sixth week of the Gator Country.com Top 25 college football poll.
The Crimson Tide once again received the majority of the first-place votes cast by subscribers to the Gator Country.com website, grabbing the top spot on 31 of the 34 ballots cast. Alabama, which totaled 845 points, takes its 5-0 record on the road to No. 19 South Carolina this Saturday.
Alabama was 54 points ahead of second-place Ohio State, which got a pair of first-place votes. The 5-0 Buckeyes play host to Indiana at noon Saturday.
Moving up a spot into third place is Oregon, which was just five points behind the Buckeyes. The Ducks (5-0) knocked off Stanford 52-31 last Saturday night and travels to Washington State this Saturday.
Nebraska, which was off last Saturday and plays Thursday night at Kansas State, is up two spots to fourth. Oklahoma, which won the Red River Rivalry game with Texas last Saturday, 28-20, is up three spots to fifth place.
Despite a 59-0 victory last Saturday over New Mexico State, Boise State, which received the other first-place vote, dropped from fifth to sixth, two points behind Oklahoma but only nine ahead of No. 7 Texas Christian. The Broncos (4-0) host Toledo Saturday night on the blue carpet, while the Horned Frogs (5-0) are home against Mountain West Conference foe Wyoming.
Auburn moved up a spot to No. 8 after its 52-3 victory over Louisiana-Monroe last Saturday and takes a 5-0 record to Kentucky this Saturday night. Utah (4-0) was up four spots to No. 9 just five points ahead of 5-0 Louisiana State, which visits No. 11 Florida Saturday night at 7:30 in front of the ESPN cameras.
Following Florida in the second team are Arizona (4-0), Arkansas (3-1), Michigan (5-0), Miami (3-1), Michigan State (5-0), Iowa (4-1), Stanford (4-1), South Carolina (3-1) and Wisconsin (4-1). No. 16 Michigan State visits No. 14 Michigan this Saturday afternoon, No. 15 Miami plays host to No. 24 Florida State Saturday night at 8 and No. 18 Stanford tries to rebound from its loss at Oregon by playing host to Southern California at 8 p.m.
Three teams make their first appearance in the GC.com Top 25 this week. Oklahoma State (4-0) is No. 21 and plays at Louisiana-Lafayette Friday night. Both Missouri (4-0) and Nevada (5-0) are each up two spots to No. 22 and No. 23, respectively, ahead of newcomers Florida State (4-1) and Northwestern (5-0).
