Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) University School weak-side defensive end/BUCK Richard Yeargin was wowed again on his visit to the University of Florida.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Yeargin did not participate in the camp, but was in attendance and hung out on the sideline the entire time.
Yeargin, who has been to Florida a few times, was happy to be back in the Swamp. Yeargin noted, “it was a great atmosphere. I loved it – it’s what Gator football is all about and it was definitely worth the trip coming up here, even though I didn’t participate.” Yeargin continued, “I came up with my brother and father. They loved it. We’re from Florida, so they knew what to expect, but we were still wowed by the hospitality we were shown.”
During his visit, Yeargin spoke extensively with head coach Will Muschamp, but also talked quite a bit with defensive line coach Brad Lawing and defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson. Yeargin said that the coaches still like him at the BUCK position, even with the new commitment of BUCK prospect Justus Reed.
When asked about new defensive line coach Brad Lawing, Yeargin said, “Coach Lawing is a real southern coach. He is laid back, but he is going to work hard with you to make sure you get the technique down and I really appreciate that about him.”
Yeargin, while he has a ton of offers, is not quite ready to make a decision. “I am going through this process with my fingers crossed, and hope that I get everything that I am looking for. I know not everything I want or is promised to me is going to happen. Right now the schools that are in the mix are Michigan, UCLA, USC, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Clemson, a bunch of schools. I haven’t narrowed it down to a top five just yet. Florida is definitely going to be in my top-five, though.” Yeargin also said that Florida now leads in his recruitment.
Yeargin did also mention that he is closest to the coaching staffs at Florida, Notre Dame, and Clemson.
