Webb likes Davis a lot and his coaching style: Florida Gators recruiting

The Florida Gators recruiting camp session open on Friday night when the Gators hosted a 7-on-7 tournament and an offensive/defensive line camp.

Following Friday’s night camp, 2019 offensive line Clay Webb (6-3, 297, Oxford, AL. High) picked up an offer from Florida after working with offensive line coach Brad Davis.

“Coach McElwain offered,” Webb said on which coach offered him. “He said that he wanted me to be a part of the family. I think he would be a good coach to play under. I like Florida and it was a beautiful campus.”

This was Webb’s first trip to Florida and he liked the atmosphere that the Gators coaching staff has with their players.

“I just like the way the players and coaches interacted on the field,” he said of the visit. “I liked meeting all of the coaches and everyone. I liked meeting Coach Davis and he said he loved me.”

After the camp was over with Webb got a chance to really connect with Davis and after working with him, the two plan to build a relationship.

“I liked him, I got to talk to him and he was nice,” Webb said of Davis. “I got to work with him and he helped me with my form a little bit. I liked his energy level. I like how he wants 1-on-1 time with the players so he can help you.”

The recruiting process has really taken off for Webb recently and he knows that his decision isn’t going to be easy.

“It’s awesome just every time I get to meet new coaches and staffs,” he said of the experience. “It’s just making the decision harder with every offer I pick up.”

Despite picking up a lot offers recently, Webb says he’s no where near to making a decision.

“I’m probably going to make my decision heading into my senior year,” Webb said. “Academics, how the coaches and I interact with each other. How the coaches and style fits me.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Alabama and Auburn are the two schools that have Webb’s attention the most. Georgia is a close third but Florida and Brad Davis caught his attention during camp.
