Milledgeville (Ga.) Georgia Military offensive lineman Trenton Brown is one of Florida’s top targets, but this past weekend he visited Oklahoma for the Sooners’ Bedlam rivalry game against Oklahoma State.
“It was all right,” said Brown, after watching Oklahoma’s 51-48 overtime win. “It was colder than I thought it would be out there. But it was all right. The facilities and stadium was nice.”
Heading into the visit, the 6-foot-8, 350-pound Brown had a leader and decision date in mind but now his decision has been pushed back.
“Florida is still my leader,” Brown said. “But now I’m going to announce my decision either December 19th or 20th and a little signing day thing at my school with my teammates on JUCO National Signing Day.”
With the contact period starting today, Florida is wasting little time traveling to Georgia to visit the offensive lineman.
“Florida is coming by my school on Tuesday,” Brown said. “Coach (Tim) Davis is the coach coming to see me. So far Florida is the only school that has said they are coming to see me.”
Brown has taken all of his official visits and said he will not take any more before he commits.
While Brown was in Norman, Okla., he did keep any eye on the Gators’ 37-26 victory against Florida State on Saturday afternoon in Tallahassee, Fla.
“It was a good win for Florida,” Brown said. “The offensive played good — just needed a USC or [Georgia] loss to make it even better.”
Brown, who will enroll early at his chosen school in the spring, plays his final bowl game with Georgia Military on Dec. 1.
