The Briefing Room, Part I: October 30, 2008

We’re about halfway through the 2008 football season, and this Florida squad is in an excellent position to accomplish most of the goals it set for itself at the beginning of fall camp. Recruiting the Class of 2009 class is much closer, though, to being wrapped up.

There certainly is some drama building for some of the prospects on the board, and there could very well be some surprises left in store for those fans who pay close attention to all things recruiting.

With that in mind, we’re going to focus on the positions which still have a bit of uncertainty, and we will also look ahead to the recruiting of the Class of 2010, which is shaping up to be one of the best in the country if the early returns are any indication.

WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?: The question is valid as it relates to wide receiver Andre DeBose (5-11, 175, Sanford, FL Seminole, #29 ESPNU 150). Will DeBose end up signing with Florida, the school closest to home where he would seem to be a natural replacement for the likely-to-depart Percy Harvin? Or will he go to Baton Rouge and join the nation’s hottest prospect — quarterback-athlete Russell Shepard — with the LSU Tigers?
