The Florida Gators recruiting efforts has Frazier “pumped”

The state of Georgia is absolutely loaded with top defensive line prospects this year and on Monday the Gators coaches visited one of its top targets on the Florida Gators recruiting board.

Defensive tackle Ben Frazier (6-2, 320, Buford, GA High) received an early morning visit from defensive coordinator Geoff Collins, who spoke to Frazier’s coach.

“Coach Collins was by my weight lifting class early on Monday,” Frazier said. “It went great so he was just talking to my running backs coach and my head coach about me while I was lifting weights. He gave me a wave and he direct messaged me on Twitter later and said he couldn’t wait to see me in a few weeks. I’m pretty pumped.”

Frazier has heard a lot from Collins and defensive line coach Chris Rumph as of late and the message from Collins is that he wants Frazier in Gainesville.

“He has pretty much been telling me that he and Coach Rumph are really excited about me,” he said. “He said they’re hyped up about me possibly getting down there and he said that he’s excited that I’m a recruit of his. Coach Collins is just letting me know about the process and letting me know all about the good stuff.”

Frazier knows that he’s on the Florida Gators recruiting board and Rumph has told him where he would play at in Gainesville.

“Coach Rumph said that he sees me a 1-tech/shade type of defensive tackle,” Frazier said. “He said that he hopes that I can shed down some weight and play some three technique as well. He said that he sees me as an all-around defensive tackle at Florida.”

Last month Frazier was supposed to visit Gainesville before plans fell through. He has rescheduled his visit to Gainesville for November.

“I’m thinking that I’m going to get down there November 28th for when they play Florida State,” he said. “They said they aren’t taking many official visits until January so that will be my unofficial visit that weekend.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Frazier is definitely on the recruiting board and is someone the Florida Gators like a lot at defensive tackle and if the Gators push hard for Frazier then I believe the Gators can land his signature.
