Reed has a top three that includes the Florida Gators

Two weeks ago the Florida Gators hosted an instate offensive lineman from a school that has sent a lot players to Gainesville in recent history.

Offensive lineman Cleveland Reed (6-3, 327, Lakeland, FL. High) visited Florida to watch the Gators practice and he liked the visit.

“It was a good visit,” Reed said of the visit to Florida. “I just went up there to talk to the coaches and watch them practice. We walked around the facilities.”

While on campus to watch practice, Reed had the chance to meet new Gators offensive line coach Brad Davis.

“He’s a great guy,” he said of his first impressions of Davis. “He loves me as a person and as a football player. He said that he loves my film and he thinks that I will be a great fit for them at guard.”

After meeting with Davis and watching practice, Reed had the chance to sit down and talk with Gators head coach Jim McElwain.

“He wants me to be a Gator,” Reed said of McElwain’s message. “He wants me really bad and they need guys like me in their program. I like talking with him and watching him.”

Following his visit to Florida, Reed announced his top three schools and explained why they made the cut.

“My top three schools are Miami, North Carolina and Florida,” he said of his top three. “All of three of the schools are great fits for me and are schools that are recruiting me the hardest.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Right now it seems as if Miami is the team to beat for Reed but if the Gators were to turn up the heat, Florida could get in a battle with Miami. Florida has a lot of instate targets this year on the offensive line.
