Recruits react to Florida’s opening win: Florida Gators recruiting

The Florida Gators defeated New Mexico State 61-13 on Saturday night in front of 90,227 screaming Gators fans and the South endzone was full of prospects watching.

Several prospects on the Florida Gators recruiting board have said that they wanted to see how Jim McElwain’s offense did and that offense didn’t disappoint as they amassed over 600 yards against New Mexico State

Gator Country talked to several members of the Florida Gators recruiting board to get their reaction on the Gators win and here’s what they had to say.

2017 Florida Gators quarterback commit Jake Allen- “man the Swamp is crazy,” Allen said on Twitter

Receiver target Nate Craig-Myers- New era here in Gainesville! Loving the atmosphere,” Myers said on Twitter. “#GoGators.”

Florida Gators linebacker commit Jeremiah Moon- Will Grier is going off,” Moon said on Twitter.

Moon also added-“They look improved from an offensive stand point. There were big plays on offense. Coach [Geoff] Collins did a good job of play calling on defense.”

2017 Ohio State Buckeyes athlete commit Bruce Judson- “The Swamp is Crazy live,” Judson said on Twitter.

Florida Gators offensive line target Marcus Tatum-“Good win, the o-line still needs to gel more but they did well for being so new. I know the feeling of playing with a new o-line, I had to do it my sophomore year and it was the hardest thing ever.”

Florida Gators quarterback commit Kyle Trask-“I think the offense looked good and I hope they carry this into conference play.”

Florida Gators safety commit Jeawon Taylor-“We are looked great on both sides of the ball.”

Florida Gators athlete commit Tyrek Tisdale-“I had a great first impression of the win. Coach Mac called a great game and defense did there part. Offense also did there part.”

Florida Gators center commit Brett Heggie-“Thought the offense looked well and defense as well.”

Receiver target Freddie Swain-“Impressive.”

Defensive end target Jachai Polite-“Great execution on all aspects. I would like to see that throughout the whole season.”

Florida Gators defensive end commit Eric Mitchell-“I think the Gators are back.”

Florida Gators cornerback Chauncey Gardner-“Excited about everything.”

Florida Gators linebacker commit Vosean Joseph-“Awesome win. I didn’t get to watch it but I stayed up to date and I think they did great.”
