Recruits game schedule: Week 1

You asked for it, you got it.

Starting this week and running every Thursday, Gator Country will post the game schedule for each of Florida’s verbal commits so you can keep a closer eye on the future of Florida football.

On Mondays, be sure to catch our Recruiting Rewind where we recap each prospect’s performance and announce a Rewind Recruit of the Week.

Recruits game schedule for August 22, 2013:

Philadelphia (Pa.) Germantown offensive lineman Dontae Angus

Opponent: Germantown will take on Father Judge in their season opener this week.

Casper (WY.) Natrona County defensive end Taven Bryan

Opponent: Natrona County, doesn’t start their season until next Friday.

Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna defensive tackle Khairi Clark

Opponent: Chaminade Madonna, doesn’t start their season until September 6th.

Miami (Fla.) Central running back Dalvin Cook

Opponent: The number one ranked Miami Central Rockets will travel to Palm Beach Gardens to take on Dwyer. Dwyer features top receiver Johnnie Dixon. This game is on Saturday.

Cross City (Fla.) Dixie County cornerback Duke Dawson

Opponent: Dixie County gets their season underway by traveling to Fort White for their season opener.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines offensive lineman Travaris Dorsey

Opponent: Raines travels to take on Atlantic Coast in a preseason game before they start their season next week. This game is on Thursday.

Davidson (N.C.) Day quarterback Will Grier

Opponent: Defending champions, Davidson Day will travel to Albemarle to open the season. This game will be televised live on ESPN3 at 7 P.M. Friday Night.

Immokalee (Fla.) High cornerback J.C. Jackson

Opponent: Immokalee doesn’t start their season until next Friday.

Mount Pleasant (S.C.) Wando offensive lineman Nolan Kelleher

Opponent: The season will kick off for Wando on Friday when they host James Island.

Deland (Fla.) High offensive lineman Benjamin Knox

Opponent: Deland will not start their season until next week when Deland travels to Mainland.

Plantation (Fla.) High cornerback Chris Lammons

Opponent: Plantation will not start their season until next week when they travel to Dillard.

Homestead (Fla.) High receiver Ermon Lane

Opponent: Homestead will host University school on ESPNU on Sunday at 11 A.M. The big matchup will be Ermon Lane versus fellow Florida commit Quincy Wilson.

Tuscaloosa (Al.) Kingwood Christian tight end C’yontai Lewis

Opponent: Kingwood will host Jackson Academy in a preseason game on Friday night.

Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic defensive end Justus Reed

Opponent: Central Catholic will host Countryside in a preseason game before opening the season next week.

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) University cornerback Quincy Wilson

Opponent: University school travels to Homewood to take on Ermon Lane and his teammates on ESPNU on Sunday at 11:00 A.M.

Top games involving targets

Norcross (Ga.) High defensive end Lorenzo Carter

Opponent: Norcross will take on Booker T. Washington on ESPN on Saturday night at 7:00 P.M.

Gallatin (Tn.) Station Camp receiver Josh Malone

Opponent: Station Camp will take on Beech on ESPN2 at 12:00 P.M. on Sunday.

Andrew Spivey
Andrew always knew he wanted to be involved with sports in some capacity. He began by coaching high school football for six years before deciding to pursue a career in journalism. While coaching, he was a part of two state semifinal teams in the state of Alabama. Given his past coaching experience, he figured covering recruiting would be a perfect fit. He began his career as an intern for Rivals.com, covering University of Florida football recruiting. After interning with Rivals for six months, he joined the Gator Country family as a recruiting analyst.
