Florida Gators Recruiting Mailbag

Q.) Hand is rescheduling his Florida visit because he is taking his SAT on the date of the Arkansas game. With his Bama visit already in the books for the LSU game that really leaves Georgia Southern and FSU. What is it looking like for an official? He wont take his official on a non-gameday will he?

A.) I’ve been told that Deshawn Hand has moved his Alabama visit to the weekend they play Tennessee and will now visit Florida for the Vanderbilt game.

Q.) What does the offensive line board look like and how many do we take?

A.) Jordan Sims and David Sharpe are the top two targets for Florida right now but the Gators could look to the JUCO ranks for a lineman as well. The Gators would like to add two more to the class.

Q.) Any commits this weekend and who are the possibilities?

A.) I don’t really see anyone committing this weekend but with all of the buzz around top prospects you never know. I think a player could commit silently to Florida but I doubt anyone goes public this weekend.

Q.) The need for offensive linemen is pretty obvious. How are we looking with the top prospects? Could we flip an OL currently committed elsewhere?

A.) Florida has been talking to Oregon commit Tyrell Crosby some but it doesn’t look like he will visit. I think Florida is still in the thick of things with David Sharpe.

Q.) Who are some of the JUCO options that our staff is considering? Do you think that they will wait to see if they can get some of their top targets before considering those JUCO players?

A.) The staff hasn’t really gotten too involved with JUCO players yet but I think they will start looking more soon.

Q.) Who do you think UF lands at linebacker? (If any).

A.) Raekwon McMillan is the guy Florida has the best shot at but I don’t think they land anyone honestly.

Q.) Do you see all of our commitments sticking till NSD? If you think someone is shaky, are you at liberty to say?

A.) Yes I do, I think the guys that were shaky are out, like Ben Knox.

Q.) Who are we recruiting for the all-important Wildcat position that works 50-60% of the time (ends up being QB running up the middle)?

A.) LOL you mean the next Trey Burton? You would have to ask DK about this but honestly I think Alvin Bailey steps in at the position.

Q.) Will we add a LB to this upcoming class?

A.) I don’t think so right now but let’s see how some of these visits go.
