Every Monday Gator Country presents the Prep Rewind with scores and stats that from the weekend’s high school games that involved Florida commitments and targets.

Week thirteen player of the week is: Will Grier

Here are the stats and scores from the past weekend:

Philadelphia (Pa.) Martin Luther King offensive lineman Dontae Angus

Results: MLK lost to Archbishop Wood 52-8 on Saturday.

Stats: Angus had a tackle in the loss.

Casper (WY.) Natrona County defensive end Taven Bryan

Results: Natrona County ended its season at 8-4, falling to East, 14-13.

Stats: N/A

Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna defensive tackle Khairi Clark

Results: Chaminade Madonna finished its year with a 2-7 record with a 40-13 loss to Cardinal Newman.

Stats: Clark blocked two kicks in the loss.

Miami (Fla.) Central running back Dalvin Cook

Results: Central advanced to the second round of the playoffs with a 55-37 win over Boynton Beach.

Stats: Cook had five carries for 116 yards and three touchdowns and an 85-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Cross City (Fla.) Dixie County cornerback Duke Dawson

Results: Dixie County defeated Wildwood, 37-0, to advance to the second round of the playoffs.

Stats: Dawson had 2 tackles in the win.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines offensive lineman Travaris Dorsey

Results: Raines defeated Bradford 58-6 and will now take on Bolles in the second round of the playoffs.

Derby (KS) Derby tight end Deandre Goolsby

Results: Derby defeated Manhattan 55-20 to advance to the third round of the playoffs.

Stats: Goolsby had a seven-yard touchdown catch.

Davidson (N.C.) Day quarterback Will Grier

Results: Davidson Day defeated Hickory Grove Christian, 73-24, to advance to the state championship.

Stats: Grier threw for 498 yards and eight touchdowns, plus added 59 yards rushing for another touchdown.

Immokalee (Fla.) High cornerback J.C. Jackson

Results: Immokalee defeated Cardinal Gibbons 25-23 in a nail bitter.

Stats: Jackson had one catch for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Mount Pleasant (S.C.) Wando offensive lineman Nolan Kelleher

Results: Wando ended its season with a 42-14 lost to Byrnes.

Stats: N/A

Plantation (Fla.) High cornerback Chris Lammons

Results: Plantation defeated American 26-15 to advance to the second round.

Stats: N/A

Homestead (Fla.) High receiver Ermon Lane

Results: Homestead ended its season with a 6-5 record.

Stats: Lane ended the year with 31 catches and 605 yards and eight touchdowns.

Tuscaloosa (Al.) Kingwood Christian tight end C’yontai Lewis

Results: Kingwood Christian ended its season with a 9-4 record as they fell to Bessemer Academy  35-7 on Friday.

Stats: Lewis had three catches for nine yards in the loss.

Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic defensive end Justus Reed

Results: Central Catholic defeated Bishop Verot 54-0 to advance to the second round.

Stats: Reed had one sack in the win.

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) University cornerback Quincy Wilson

Results: University School defeated Gulliver Prep, 47-7, to advance to the second round.

Andrew Spivey
Andrew always knew he wanted to be involved with sports in some capacity. He began by coaching high school football for six years before deciding to pursue a career in journalism. While coaching, he was a part of two state semifinal teams in the state of Alabama. Given his past coaching experience, he figured covering recruiting would be a perfect fit. He began his career as an intern for Rivals.com, covering University of Florida football recruiting. After interning with Rivals for six months, he joined the Gator Country family as a recruiting analyst.
