ESPN PROFILE:

Johnson plays as a stand-up end at the high school level, but with a tall rangy frame he will likely add bulk with time in a college weight program and play with his hand on the ground. Playing from a “three” point should help him to be little more consistent in his pad level. Does a good job of using his hands to take on blocks. Will get hands on and squeeze down. Does a good job of being able to take on a block and maintain contain. Displays good speed to pursue plays from behind. Displays solid short-area change-of-direction skills. He is a solid tackler, but can over run the play at times. As a pass rusher he will display some savvy. Not a guy using a ton of moves or is overly flashy, but displays the ability to use his weapons to knock a blockers hands down and work his way past blockers. With a good frame and ability, Johnson is a kid with some nice upside.
