With the spring evaluation period ongoing, the Florida coaching staff is out seeing and talking to a ton of prospects around the country.
Over the next two weeks GatorCountry.com is going to break down each position and talks about the prospects that the Gators have offered or guys that are close to an offer.
We will not talk about the quarterback position since the Gators already have their man in Will Grier.
First up was the running back position where Florida is looking to take two running backs and possibly a fullback.
Second was the receiver position where the Gators want to add three to four players. Then we previewed the tight end position where the staff would like to add two prospects.
Now finally, we will talk about the offensive line position where the Gators have three commitments and would like to add two more.
Here are the prospects that have offers:
Philadelphia (Pa.) Germantown offensive lineman Dontae Angus
Angus is one of the latest lineman to pick up a Florida offer. At 6-foot-, 330-pounds Angus is a prospect who has picked up a lot of interest of late. Angus says he will visit Florida this summer but for now, Rutgers is the leader for him.
Nashville (Tn.) Montgomery Bell Academy offensive lineman Alex Bars
The 6-foot-6, 290-pound Bars visited Florida this spring but just recently committed to Notre Dame. Florida isn’t recruiting Bars very much any longer.
St. Louis (Mo.) DeSmet offensive lineman Andy Bauer
Bauer visited Florida earlier this year but just recently committed to Ole Miss. Florida didn’t have much interest in the 6-foot-6, 304-pound Bauer despite his offer.
Duluth (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge offensive lineman Orlando Brown
The 6-foot-7, 340-pound Brown was a hot prospect at this time last year but his recruitment slowed recently when he chose Tennessee. Florida isn’t recruiting Brown very hard at this point.
Baton Rouge (La.) University Laboratory School offensive lineman Garrett Brumfield
Brumfield committed to LSU at their spring game two weeks ago. Florida had a lot of interest in Brumfield. Brumfield at one time had Florida as his leader but it’s always tough to pull a prospect from Baton Rouge.
Casper (Wy.) Natrona County offensive lineman Taven Bryan
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Bryan is another prospect who picked up a Florida offer recently. Bryan has looks from a lot of west coast teams but also has a lot of interest coming from Tennessee.
Paramus (N.J.) Paramus Catholic offensive lineman Juwan Bushnell-Beatty
Beatty recently committed to Michigan but never had much interest in Florida.
Mobile (Al.) St. Paul’s offensive lineman Joshua Casher
The 6-foot-2, 295-pound Casher had said he would visit Florida but never did. Instead, Casher committed to Auburn a few months ago.
Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake offensive lineman Mason Cole
The 6-foot-5, 275-pound Cole committed to Michigan a month or so ago. Cole had visited Florida but never really showed high interest in the Gators.
Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines offensive lineman Travaris Dorsey
Dorsey was the first offensive lineman to commit to Florida this spring. The 6-foot-3, 314-pound Dorsey is a solid commitment to Florida.
Scanton (Pa.) Lackawanna community college offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Eluemunor had said he would visit Florida this summer but contact between the two parties has slowed down some.
Lincoln (Ne.) Southeast offensive lineman D.J. Foster
The 6-foot-3, 312-pound Foster says he will take a tour of the southeast this summer and one of those stops could be to Florida. Foster is from the southeast and has ties to Tennessee.
St. Petersburg (Fla.) Catholic offensive lineman Reilly Gibbons
The 6-foot-6, 278-pound Gibbons visited Florida multiple times over the past year but the Gators never recruited him hard. Gibbons recently committed to Miami.
Florissant (Mo.) Hazelwood Central offensive lineman Roderick Johnson
Florida is the latest to offer the 6-foot-7, 310-pound Johnson. Johnson is another prospect who says he will visit Florida this summer.
Chicago (Ill.) De La Salle offensive lineman Jamarco Jones
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Jones just recently named a top 3 and Florida did not make the cut.
Deland (Fla.) High offensive lineman Benjamin Knox
Knox was the second offensive lineman to commit to Florida this spring. The 6-foot-6, 259-pound Knox has seen his recruitment slow recently but he remains solid to Florida.
Fort Worth (Tx.) All Saints Episcopal offensive lineman Demetrius Knox
The 6-foot-4, 287-pound Knox recently decommitted from Texas but just named a top group that didn’t include Florida or Texas.
Bellflower (Ca.) St. John Bosco offensive lineman Damien Mama
Mama just recently picked up a Florida offer this spring. The 6-foot-5, 360-pound Mama says he has interest in Florida but has not set up a visit yet.
Wellington (Fla.) Palm Beach Central offensive lineman Kc McDermott
The 6-foot-6, 301-pound McDermott is a Miami legacy and committed to the Canes this spring.
Olney (Md.) Good Counsel offensive lineman Sam Mustipher
Mustipher recently committed to Notre Dame and never really had much interest in Florida despite an offer.
New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine offensive lineman Joseph Paul
The 6-foot-4, 340-pound Paul is a Florida commitment but he is still taking visits to other schools. Paul is scheduled to visit Texas in early June. Paul’s commitment to Florida is very shaky at this time.
Forestville (Md.) Bishop McNamara offensive lineman Damian Prince
The 6-foot-5, 292-pound Prince is considered a Florida State lean at this time. Prince however says he will try to visit Florida this summer.
Jacksonville (Fla.) Providence School offensive lineman David Sharpe
The 6-foot-8, 275-pound Sharpe is one of the prospects who has seen his recruitment blow up recently. Sharpe is considered to be looking hard at Florida, Florida State and North Carolina because he would like to play both basketball and football.
Jackson (Ms.) Callaway offensive lineman Rod Taylor
The 6-foot-4, 311-pound Taylor is a prospect that Florida is very high on and is trying desperately to get to visit this summer.
Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy offensive lineman Denzel Ward
Ward is a prospect who is leaning hard towards Florida at this time but wants to take other visits. Ward and quarterback Will Grier have become very good friends.
St. Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn
The 6-foot-2, 269-pound Wynn is very good friends with Dante Fowler and that could help Florida pull in the talented offensive lineman. Right now Georgia is considered his leader but that could change when Wynn visits Florida this summer.
