Louis could be a good fit at Florida

In recruiting their Class of 2010, the Florida Gators will likely take a few receivers with players such as Kadron Boone and Chris Dunkley being two of the most likely candidates.

But one other player to keep an eye on is James Louis from Atlantic Community High School in Delray Beach. The 5-11, 170-pounder stars at both wide receiver and safety for his high school team and has attracted the attention of a lot of schools.

“I’m hearing from a lot schools including LSU, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Florida, Louisville, FIU and USF,” Louis said. “Right now, every school is equal to me, but once my season is over I am going to start figuring things out.”

The Gators have been in hot pursuit. “I’ve never visited Florida, but I really hope I can get up there sometime soon,” Louis said.

Staying close to home is something that isn’t a big factor for Louis. However there are a couple of other things that he will consider when deciding on a future home.

“I am looking for a school that is balanced with throwing the ball and running the ball,” he said. “Also, I want to make sure I like the football program.”

Louis may play on both sides of the ball in high school but expects to only play wide receiver in college.

“I prefer playing wide receiver because I like catching the ball and making big plays,” he said. “But I also like to block. I definitely take pride in my blocking ability.”

With his junior season ending shortly, Louis will start to focus more and more on recruiting. While he doesn’t have a set time table, he did say that he wanted to make a decision sooner rather then later.

James Louis is a name to remember as the Gators focus more on their Class of 2010.
