LB Yeargin lists Florida in top 5

Florida has been on a roll the last few days handing out offers, and on Tuesday they offered a top 2014 linebacker.

2014 Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) University School linebacker Richard Yeargin III picked up a Florida offer on Tuesday.

“I was told to call Florida on Tuesday,” Yeargin said. “When I called I talked to coach (Will) Muschamp, and he told me that he was offering me a scholarship to Florida. He said he loves me as a player and that he wants me at Florida.”

This is a big offer the 6-foot-4, 210-pound Yeargin has been waiting for since he has been recruited.

“To get an offer from Florida is special,” Yeargin said. “It really is a dream come true offer to get one from Florida. I really like the tradition of football that the Gators have and the strong academics the university has.”

While it’s still early in the process Yeargin said he has a top 5, and the newly offered Gators are in it.

“Florida is my top 5 for sure,” Yeargin said. “I would say it’s Florida, Clemson, UCLA, Tennessee and Georgia Tech that’s in my top 5.”

Yeargin says he plans to visit Florida for their spring game in April.
