“Latroy wants me at Florida”

Under Will Muschamp, the Florida Gators will always look to sign top notch running backs in each recruiting class.

One of the prospects being looked at for next year is 2015 Citra (Fla.) North Marion running back James Allen who visited Florida for Friday Night Lights and loved it.

“I always love Florida’s environment,” Allen said. “That’s always been my favorite school. I felt like I learned a lot from the camp from coach (Brian) White, he taught me some stuff about how to cut and different ways I should line up and just some small stuff.”

Not only does the 5-foot-11, 180-pound Allen like Florida’s environment but he also likes running backs coach Brian White.

“Coach White is a good running back coach,” Allen said. “ I feel like he teaches you stuff and he knows the fundamentals of football. If you listen to him, you will learn a lot and that’s something that I felt like I have done both at Friday Night Lights, and also at the Will Muschamp football camp.”

While Allen has yet to receive an offer from Florida, he still has a leader and some possible fall visits this fall.

“Florida is my leader right now,” Allen said. “I’ve always liked Florida. I plan to go to some Florida games this fall and to Georgia for a game. I may also go to a game at South Carolina but it depends on if my coach wants to go up there or not.”

For Allen, he has a former teammate at Florida in receiver Latroy Pittman who is always talking highly of Allen to the coaches.

“Latroy is always putting in a good word for me to the coaches at Florida,” Allen said. “He tells me he wants me at Florida and that I would fit in well.”
