Johnny Townsend inks with Gators

The Gators have their added second player to the Class of 2013 today as Orlando (Fla.) Boone punter Johnny Twonsend signed with Florida.

Townsend was originally scheduled to sign with Ohio State on Wednesday, but after a late conversation with Urban Meyer, he decided against that.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Townsend is a solid punter as he was a U.S. Army All-American in 2013.

During his senior season Townsend averaged 44.6 yards per punt and was named to 2012 Class 8A All-State team in Florida.

Townsend comes from a Florida family as both of his parents attended UF, and his brother is currently a student.
