Inside Gators Recruiting 5/6/12

Saturday marked the first day some schools were able to practice in full pads in the state of Florida.

With that being said, the Florida coaching staff was out watching prospects during spring practice and handed out two new scholarship offers to 2014 prospects

Before I go into Saturday’s visits, I need to note a prospect who received a visit that I missed in Saturday’s Inside Gators Recruiting update.

Florida running backs coach Brian White visited Dunedin, Fla., running back Tramaine Batten. Batten is a 5-foot-10, 190-pound running back. Batten holds offers from Massachusetts and Toledo, but more are expected this spring.

“Coach White told my coach that he liked my highlight tape and that he’s going to keep an eye on me and that I should come to one of the camps this summer,” Batten said.

Now, on to Saturday.

UF receivers coach Aubrey Hill visited Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna cornerback Adrian Baker. Baker said the visit was “good,” and that he has a Top 3 now of Florida, Florida State and Miami. Baker also said a decision is coming soon.

While visiting Chaminade Madonna, Hill also checked out Class of 2014 defensive tackle Khairi Clark. Clark is a 6-foot-3, 311-pound defensive tackle. Clark received good news after practice today. “Coach Hill told my coach that they were offering me a scholarship to Florida,” Clark said.

Hill and Gators offensive line coach Tim Davis made a stop at Wellington (Fla.) Palm Beach Central to visit with 2014 offensive lineman K.C. McDermott. “Coach Davis told my coach that they were offering me (Saturday),” McDermott said.

Davis and Hill also visited Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage offensive lineman Rod Johnson today. Johnson is verbally committed to the Gators.
