“I grew up loving Florida”

One of the top 2015 prospects in attendance at Friday Night Lights was Tampa (Fla.) Tech receiver Deon Cain.

“I really enjoyed myself at Friday Night Lights,” Cain said. “There was a lot of competition out there, but I felt like I did pretty good.”

During the event, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Cain was pulled aside by Florida head coach Will Muschamp.

“Coach (Will) Muschamp said he liked what I did out there,” Cain said. “He told me that he liked my route running and that I had really good speed and that he wanted me to keep in touch with Florida and give him a call.”

Friday Night Lights is just that, it’s a camp under the lights in the Swamp. Cain enjoyed the atmosphere of Florida Field on Friday.

“The atmosphere was really good up there,” Cain said. “I liked how they had the highlights going on and how the music was playing loud. It felt good in there and I could see my face up there on the highlights one day.”

Cain has yet to pick up a Florida offer, but he does have two instate offers.

“Florida State and USF have already offered me but I’m pretty open,” Cain said. “I grew up loving Florida since I was a little kid, so to have a Florida offer would be great.”

Cain says he plans to attend Florida’s first football practice on August 1st and plans to attend some Gators games this fall as well.
