Gators Recruiting: Coaches visits 1.24

The Gators coaching staff is using every second of the day to visit prospects across the southeast and Wednesday was no different.

Florida visited six in-state prospects but also ventured into Georgia and South Carolina to speak with targets for its 2014 class.

On Wednesday, the coaches visited:

Running back coach Brian White visited Plantation (Fla.) South Plantation running back Alex Collins at his school.

Will Muschamp and offensive line coach Tim Davis took an in-home visit with Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage offensive line coach Rod Johnson.

Muschamp and Davis visited 2014 Wellington (Fla.) Palm Beach Central offensive lineman K.C. McDermott at his school.

Defensive line coach Bryant Young, defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson and Muschamp visited 2014 West Palm Beach (Fla.) Dwyer receiver Johnnie Dixon.

Muschamp, Young and Robinson also visited 2014 Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna defensive tackle Khairi Clark.

Defensive coordinator D.J Durkin visited 2014 Wauchula (Fla.) Hardee Senior defensive end Keyon Brown on Wednesday.

Tight end coach Derek Lewis visited 2014 Bamberg (S.C.) Bamberg-Ehrhardt athlete Kevin Crosby at his school.

Lewis also visited 2014 College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy receiver Terry Googer.

Andrew always knew he wanted to be involved with sports in some capacity. He began by coaching high school football for six years before deciding to pursue a career in journalism. While coaching, he was a part of two state semifinal teams in the state of Alabama. Given his past coaching experience, he figured covering recruiting would be a perfect fit. He began his career as an intern for Rivals.com, covering University of Florida football recruiting. After interning with Rivals for six months, he joined the Gator Country family as a recruiting analyst.
