Florida sees 2015 QB throw on Monday

With an eye on landing a quarterback in each recruiting class, Florida head coach Will Muschamp was on the recruiting trail Monday stopping by to visit 2015 quarterback Deondre Francois (6-0, 182, Orlando, FL Olympia). The timing of the visit was perfect because Muschamp got to see Francois working out.

“Coach Muschamp, Coach (Brian) White and Coach (Kurt) Roper all came by school on Monday,” Francois said. “I was outside throwing so they were able to see me throw a little on Monday. They told my coach that they loved how I throw the ball and that they are excited to see me up at Florida for junior day this Saturday and that I’ve earned my offer to Florida.”

Francois plans to visit Florida with teammate Dexter Williams and he already has a good idea what he wants to see while in Gainesville.

“I want to get a feel for the campus on Saturday,” Francois said. “I want to see how the coaches are in person and see the players. I want to sit down with coach Roper and talk about his offense and see how he sees me fitting in there.”

Because he’s from Orlando, Francois is already quite familiar with the Gators and he likes the things he’s hearing about the program and coaches.

“I’m a Florida boy at heart, so that’s big to me,” Francois said. “I really like the coaching staff at Florida and I like the coaches at Florida, especially Coach Muschamp. I don’t know much about Coach Roper and his offense yet but I feel like I can fit into the offense by the way he talks about it.”

Despite getting the Gators offer Francois says he has no plans of committing anytime soon.

“I want to wait a while to make a decision,” Francois said.

This spring, Francois will be playing on the 7-on-7 circuit for former Gator All-American Keiwan Ratliff.
