While Florida signed five offensive lineman in the Class of 2013, the Gators are still looking to build depth in the Class of 2014.
Olney (Md.) Good Counsel offensive guard Sam Mustipher is one of the latest prospects to receive an offer from Florida.
“Getting an offer from Florida is huge,” Mustipher said. “It was also my first SEC offer so that’s big too. It’s definitely one of the most exciting ones I have received. I look forward to staying in touch with the staff and getting down to Florida for a visit.”
The 6-foot-4, 286-pound Mustipher is already planning his visit to Florida and is ready for the trip.
“I’m excited for the visit,” Mustipher said. “I’ll visit during the summer because I have family down in Florida, so I’m going to drive down there and visit them and maybe some other schools that are on my way down to Gainesville.”
The talented offensive lineman doesn’t know much about Florida, but what he does know about the Gators, he likes.
“I know Florida would get me ready for the NFL if I was to go there,”Mustipher said. “Florida also has a tradition rich program and Jelani Jenkins that played linebacker at Florida went to my high school at Good Counsel.”
Mustipher has stayed in touch with the coaching staff at Florida, and it has had a clear message for him to visit as soon as he can.
With still a long way to go in the recruiting process, Mustipher says he doesn’t have a top group of schools, but he hopes to narrow it down sometime during the spring time.
