Florida Gators recruiting visitor’s list for Vanderbilt

The Florida Gators recruiting section in Ben Hill Griffin stadium has been unused for a month now, as the Gators haven’t played a game since October 3rd when they hosted Ole Miss.

That will change Saturday as the Gators host Vanderbilt in the Swamp and the Florida Gators recruiting visitor’s list will once again have several big name prospects on it.

The Gators will not host a lot of prospects this week due to big games in Tuscaloosa and Clemson this weekend, but there will still be several visitors in the Swamp on Saturday afternoon.

Florida will host one official visitor this weekend when receiver commit Josh Hammond takes his official visit to the Gators, a school he has been committed to since June.

Here’s a look at the rest of the Florida Gators recruiting visitor’s list for this weekend.

Auburn commits visiting

Florida Gators head coach Jim McElwain is looking to flip a few prospects this year and on Saturday the Gators will host three Auburn Tigers commits on unofficial visits.

Auburn receiver commit Eli Stove is the headliner of the group and he’s an instant playmaker that could add a lot to skill to Florida’s offense. Stove has been committed to Auburn since this summer but he has recently started looking around, and the Gators are a team he’s looking hard at. Stove will have his parents with him this weekend.

Florida will also host Auburn receiver commit Marquis McClain (6-2 207, Crestview, FL High) will make his first visit to Florida this year as he’s looking for an offer from the Gators. McClain seems to be keeping all of his options open despite his commitment to Auburn.

2017 OL Calvin Ashley (6-8, 311, Orlando, FL Dr. Phillips) is one of the top offensive lineman in the country for 2017 and he will make his second visit to Florida since Jim McElwain arrived. Florida is recruiting Ashley hard.

Tight end visiting

McElwain and offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier use the tight end a lot in the Florida offense and they’re looking to add a tight end for the class of 2016. Saturday they will host tight end Kelvin Lucky (6-6, 228, Elmore, AL Edgewood Academy) on his visit to Florida.

Lucky has never met the Florida coaching staff so Saturday will be important for him to meet everyone and also so the Gators can lay eyes on him.

Commits visiting

Six Florida Gators recruiting commits are scheduled to be on campus for the Gators this weekend when they host Vanderbilt.

Offensive linemen Stone Forsythe and Brett Heggie have been on campus at Florida for every home game and they will be back on campus this Saturday afternoon.

Receiver commit Freddie Swain has been at every Florida home game this year and he’s scheduled to be in town on Saturday as well.

Defensive end Eric Mitchell will be making his first trip to Florida this season as he plays a lot of games on Saturdays.

Defensive end Antonneous Clayton is also scheduled to visit Florida this week. Clayton has been at three games this year including last week’s win over Georgia.

2017 receiver Daquon Green has been at several home games this year and he will be in attendance on Saturday with his father.

More prospects expected to visit

2017 offensive lineman Blake Vinson (6-5, 285, Citra, FL North Marion) and 2017 running back Jordan Tinder (5-10, 210, Niceville, FL High) are both scheduled to visit Gainesville on Saturday. Vinson currently has an offer but Tinder doesn’t.

2017 safety Cyrus Fagan and 2017 athlete Devan Barrett both have offers from Florida and both are scheduled to visit the Gators on Saturday.

Prospects who have said they may visit

Receivers Tre Nixon and Keith Gavin have both said they may visit Gainesville this Saturday but as of writing this they haven’t confirmed if they will visit or not.

Defensive end Brian Burns and tight end Nick Eubanks have also said that they may visit Florida this weekend for the Gators game against Vanderbilt.
