Florida Gators: Friday Night Frenzy Preview

It’s that time of the year again where the Friday Night Lights are bright and prospects all across the country are working hard on the field to impress college coaches and also trying to win a state championship.

Like the past years Gator Country is going to do a preview every Thursday for all of the Florida Gators commits and on Monday we will do a full recap including stats and notes from the past weeks games.

This year we are going to also highlight the key players to watch in the game that aren’t Florida Gators commits but rather targets or just big names in the game.

Also we will give you a few games that involve Florida Gators targets from the Class of 2015 and 2016 to watch as well.

 

 

Linebacker Jerome Baker (6-1, 206, Cleveland, OH Benedictine)

Matchup: Benedictine puts its 1-0 record up against Ursuline at home on Friday.

Yearly Stats: Baker has 6 carries for 94 yards and two touchdowns this year.

Key Players: Benedictine: LB Jerome Baker and 2016 WR Justin Layne

 

 

 

Offensive Lineman George Brown (6-6, 264, Cincinnati, OH Winton Woods)

Matchup: Winton Woods (1-0) goes on the road this week to take on Hamilton high school on Friday.

Receiver Derrick Dillon (5-11, 175, Franklinton, LA Pine)

Matchup: Pine will start its regular season this week against Pearl River at home on Friday.

Offensive lineman Michael Horton 6-4, 320, Atlanta, GA Lakeside)

Matchup: Lakeside (1-1) travels to take on Duluth on Friday night.

Yearly Stats: Horton and his offense scored just 7 points last week in a loss.

Matchup: Pasco (0-1) travels to take on Fivay this Friday night.

Matchup: Fletcher (1-0) will take on First Coast in a huge home game on Friday night.

Quarterback Sheriron Jones (6-2, 189, Moreno Valley, CA Rancho Verde)

Matchup: Rancho Verde (1-0) plays host to Murrieta Mesa on Friday night.

Yearly Stats: Jones is 15-27 for 246 yards with five touchdown passes. Jones also has 12 carries for 142 yards.

Matchup: Bishop Kenny (1-0) take on Hernando this Friday night in Jacksonville.

Matchup: Central Gwinnett (0-1) will take on Mundy’s Mill this Friday night.

Yearly Stats: Thomas has 17 tackles and one fumble recovery this year.
