Florida Gators: Friday Night Frenzy Preview Week 9

It’s that time of the year again where the Friday Night Lights are bright and prospects all across the country are working hard on the field to impress college coaches and also trying to win a state championship.

Like the past years Gator Country is going to do a preview every Thursday for all of the Florida Gators commits and on Monday we will do a full recap including stats and notes from the past weeks games.

This year we are going to also highlight the key players to watch in the game that aren’t Florida Gators commits but rather targets or just big names in the game.

Also we will give you a few games that involve Florida Gators targets from the Class of 2015 and 2016 to watch as well.

 

2015 commits

 Linebacker Jerome Baker (6-1, 206, Cleveland, OH Benedictine)

Matchup: Benedictine (6-1) travels to take on Lake Catholic on Saturday afternoon.

Yearly Stats: Baker has 37 carries for 328 yards and five touchdowns this year.

Key Players: Benedictine: Jerome Baker and 2016 WR Justin Layne

 

Offensive Lineman George Brown (6-6, 264, Cincinnati, OH Winton Woods)

Matchup: Winton Woods (4-2) travels to take on Elder on Friday night.

Receiver Derrick Dillon (5-11, 175, Franklinton, LA Pine)

Matchup: Pine (4-2) has a bye week this week.

Yearly Stats: Dillon has 18 total touchdowns and over 700 yards rushing this year.

Offensive lineman Michael Horton 6-4, 320, Atlanta, GA Lakeside)

Matchup: Lakeside (3-4) has a bye week this week.

Defensive end Andrew Ivie (6-3, 285, Dade City, FL Pasco)

Matchup: Pasco (3-3) has a home game against Hernando on Friday night.

Tight end Kalif Jackson (6-4, 202, Neptune Beach, FL Fletcher)

Quarterback Sheriron Jones (6-2, 189, Moreno Valley, CA Rancho Verde)

Matchup: Rancho Verde (5-1) has a home game against Canyon Springs.

Yearly Stats: Jones is 76-114 for 1,454 yards and has 15 touchdown passes with two interceptions. Jones also has two rushing touchdowns.

Offensive lineman Tyler Jordan (6-5, 270, Jacksonville, FL Bishop Kenny)

Matchup: Bishop Kenny (4-1) has a bye week this week.

Trinity Christian travels to take on IMG Academy-the game is on ESPNU on Thursday night at 7:30. Trinity Christian is led by Florida targets Kendrick Norton and Jeffrey Holland. IMG is led by Florida targets Mirko Jurovich, Saivion Smith and Tony Jones.
