Dream come true for Rudolph

West Palm Beach (Fla.) Cardinal Newman receiver Travis Rudolph has been at competitions all summer long.

This week, the 6-foot, 189-pound Rudolph is out in Oregon participating in the Nike Opening camp.

“It’s been overwhelming out here,” Rudolph said. “I have always wants to be here as an athlete, so it’s a dream come true for me to be here and experience this in person.”

Rudolph has also been on a recruiting tour this summer, visiting schools in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.

Next up for the Cardinal Newman prospect are trips across the southeast and one up north later this summer.

“It’s going to slow down some now after the Opening,” Rudolph said. “I plan to go to Florida State, Tennessee and maybe Ohio State. I’m also going to Florida for Friday Night Lights and I might workout, it just really depends right now.”

With the Gators, Rudolph said that he stays in contact with Florida’s new receiver coach mostly.

“I talk to coach Joker Phillips the most from Florida,” Rudolph said. “We have a real good relationship and we talk about everything, not just football. He’s a good coach and a great guy.”

Rudolph said that most prospects haven’t really talked recruiting with him this week and have left him alone for the most part.
