UF confirmed that Florida early enrollee freshman running back Mike Blakely (Bradenton/ Manatee HS) underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his left shoulder on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the Shands Florida Surgical Center.
Gator Country’s Derek Tyson reported on Jan. 16 that the surgery was planned.
Blakely was a U.S. Army All-American, but did not receive any carries in the game. His only touch was on a punt return.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Mike Moser. Blakely will miss spring practice, but is expected to participate fully when fall practice opens.
