UF basketball loses another player to the transfer portal

The hits just keep on coming for the UF basketball team. Forward Osayi Osifo announced via Twitter on Friday that he will be transferring out of the program. He joins guards Noah Locke and Ques Glover in the transfer portal, while guard Tre Mann declared for the draft earlier in the week.

Osifo spent just one season with the Orange and Blue after transferring in from Eastern Florida State College. He’s a versatile defender with great length who is very raw offensively.

The South Africa native has only played basketball for about four years. He averaged just 1.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game at UF. His most productive game came on the road at Georgia when he scored six points and pulled down five rebounds in 15 minutes. He put up the same stat line in 14 minutes at Arkansas. He scored four points and grabbed six rebounds in Florida’s upset win over Tennessee in January.

Osifo has two seasons of eligibility remaining. His departure leaves the Gators with just 10 players on scholarship for next season as of now, with more attrition possible over the coming days. That means Mike White is likely to be very aggressive in the transfer portal as he tries to piece together his roster for the 2021-22 season.
