Junior forward Thomas Haugh surpassed 1,000 career points on Wednesday night, becoming the 59th member of Florida’s 1,000-point club.
Junior forward Alex Condon reached the benchmark last week (Feb. 17 vs. South Carolina) with a 20-point, 10-rebound performance against the Gamecocks.
Entering the contest against Texas with 999 career points, Haugh slipped behind the defense before Micah Handlogten delivered a perfect alley-oop pass that Haugh calmly laid in for two.
“It’s awesome, especially in this day and age, to have him for three or four years is unique,” Golden said on Haugh reaching the milestone. “He has obviously been a great Gator and will continue to be. It speaks a lot to his improvement as a player, cause I think he only averaged four points a game as a freshman. So he didn’t get a lot of points that year, got a lot more last year and obviously now has had a breakout season. He’s been a great player, a great guy and great example of what we want our program to be.”
Despite his three-star rating out of high school, Haugh played in every game as a true freshman in 2023–24, averaging 3.9 points and 3.7 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game. The New Oxford, Pennsylvania, native posted three double-figure scoring games, including a season-high 17 in a win at Georgia. He knocked down three first-half 3-pointers and shot 6-for-9 from the field while adding seven rebounds.
Primarily serving as Florida’s 6th man during its 2024–25 national championship season, Haugh made a significant jump in production, averaging 9.8 points and 6.1 rebounds while shooting a career-high 48.5% from the field. He delivered in the clutch during the NCAA Tournament, scoring in double figures in four of Florida’s six games, including a 20-point performance against Texas Tech in the Elite Eight.
Haugh earned 2025 NCAA West Region All-Tournament Team honors.
Across 27 games for the No.7 ranked Gators in 2025-26, Haugh leads Florida in scoring at 17.3 points per game. The 6’9, 215 pound forward currently holds a career high 34.7% three-point percentage.
Haugh has established himself as one of the top players in college basketball, earning recognition on the Naismith Late-Season Team, Wooden Award Late Midseason Top 20, Julius Erving Award Midseason Top 10 List, and the Sporting News Midseason All-America Team.
