Nesmith enjoys his official visit to Florida Gators

2018 guard Aaron Nesmith took an official visit to Florida this weekend. This was his 2nd official visit as he visited Vanderbilt earlier this month. Nesmith got to experience Gainesville and see everything on campus. Nesmith caught up with GatorCountry.com to talk about his visit.

Florida offered Nesmith back in July and has been recruiting him hard ever since. The staff has made a strong impression on him and the visit provided more time to get to know the staff. Nesmith feels that the staff really wants him to be a part of the Gator tradition.

“It was a ton of fun and a fantastic experience,” Nesmith said of his official visit to Florida. “Florida has a fantastic staff and team. I felt as if they truly want me to be a part of the program and what it is about. I got to hang out with the players and have a good time. The campus feel was really nice. Florida has a great environment and is a great place.”

One thing that stood out to Nesmith on his visit was the Florida Gator fans. Nesmith got to take in the volleyball team beating #1 ranked Texas. The passion from the Gator faithful was something that caught his attention. Learning more about the academics at Florida also was a great experience for him.

“That was a lot of fun,” He said of attending the Florida volleyball game. “The fans packed the stands and cheered loudly. I can only imagine how loud it gets at a basketball game. It was great to learn more about the academic programs and see what they have to offer.”

Nesmith has not set up anymore visits at the moment. He is now taking some time to think about his options and what the next step is that he wants to take. Nesmith narrowed his list to seven earlier this month. The list consists of Florida, Vanderbilt, Harvard, South Carolina, Georgetown, Virginia Tech, and Yale. Of the seven teams, Florida and Vanderbilt are the only officials he has taken. South Carolina received an unofficial visit from Nesmith towards the end of June. Nesmith is still planning on making a decision in the coming months.
