Gators enter AP Poll at No. 24

Following their 71-55 win over then-No. 20 Florida State inside the O’Connell Center on Sunday, the Florida men’s basketball team entered the Associated Press Poll at No. 24 on Monday.

The Gators weren’t ranked in either preseason poll, and the media selected them to finish seventh in the SEC.

However, the early-season perception of them has changed following their win over Florida State. They outrebounded the much taller Seminoles by 11 and swatted away 10 shots. They forced 17 turnovers and limited FSU to 38.5 percent shooting.

They closed the game on a 31-13 run to snap their seven-game losing streak to Florida State.

The No. 24 Gators will be back in action at home on Thursday night against Milwaukee.
