Florida hoops dips in both polls

Although Florida soundly beat a tough Arkansas squad at home on Saturday, the Gators’ Tuesday road loss to Missouri was too much for voters to ignore.

On Monday, Florida (22-4, 12-2 SEC) dropped three spots to No. 8 in The Associated Press Poll, while also falling two spots to No. 6 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Gators are the only SEC team to be ranked in the top 25 in either poll.

Florida has been ranked in the top 5 on four different occasions this season, but only once did it manage to retain its ranking two weeks in a row.

The Gators remain inside the top 5 of the RPI rankings, checking in at No. 4.

The team will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., this afternoon ahead of its game on Tuesday night against Tennessee (16-10, 8-6 SEC). Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. and the game will be shown live on ESPN.
