Florida Gators in the NBA: 1.02.13

The new year is officially underway and 10 former University of Florida men’s basketball players remain in action in the NBA this season.

Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards
The rookie has played in all but two games, starting 25 games for Washington. Beal is averaging 12.5 ppg, 3.6 rpg, and 2.5 apg. He matched his career-best with 22 points in the team’s latest outing against Dallas on New Year’s Day.

Matt Bonner, San Antonio Spurs
Bonner has played in all but five games for San Antonio, averaging 4.2 ppg and 2.1 rpg. In the Spurs’ latest contest against Brooklyn on New Year’s Eve, Bonner tallied 10 points. It marked the fourth time this season Bonner had scored in double digits.

Corey Brewer, Denver Nuggets
Brewer has played in every game for Denver this year, averaging 11.4 ppg and 3.3 rpg. On Wednesday, December 26 against the Los Angeles Lakers, Brewer matched his career-high with 27 points.

Udonis Haslem, Miami Heat
Haslem has played in 27 games for Miami, starting 11. He is averaging 3.9 ppg and 4.9 rpg. He pulled in six rebounds on two occasions last week.

Al Horford, Atlanta Hawks
Horford has continued to be Atlanta’s leading rebounder with an average of 9.6 rpg. He is also scoring at a clip of 16.0 ppg. Last week, he topped the 20-point mark three times and recorded three double-doubles.

David Lee, Golden State Warriors
Lee is currently the fifth-leading rebounder and ninth-leading scorer in the league, averaging 20.1 ppg and 11.0 rpg. He scored at least 18 points in each game this past week.

Mike Miller, Miami Heat
In 27 games, Miller is averaging 3.8 ppg and 2.3 rpg. He had 11 points in four games last week.

Joakim Noah, Chicago Bulls
Along with Lee, Noah is one of 11 players in the league to be averaging a double-double (12.8 ppg and 10.3 rpg). Noah leads Chicago in rebounds, steals, and blocks on the year, as well.

Chandler Parsons, Houston Rockets
Parsons has played in and started every game but one for Houston this season. He is scoring at a clip of 14.7 ppg and is pulling down 6.1 rpg. Against San Antonio on Friday, December 28, he registered 24 points and eight rebounds.

Marreese Speights, Memphis Grizzlies
Speights has played in every game this year for Memphis, averaging 6.3 ppg and 4.8 rpg. Against Denver on Saturday, December 29, he pulled down 10 rebounds, the second-most he has collected in a single game this season.
