Gators Basketball Recruiting Mailbag: 12/26/12

In this week’s edition of the mailbag, GC’s Drew Laing offers the latest on Florida’s next two recruiting classes and discusses Patric Young’s future as a Gator.

Q: Besides Julius Randle, who is Florida recruiting for 2013?
A: To my knowledge, no one else at this time. It’s all-in on Randle.

Q: If Florida does not land Randle, do you think the coaches try to fill the scholarship or save it for next year?
A: I think they’ll just stay with the current class of Kasey Hill and Chris Walker. When Randle decides, it’ll probably be April, so at that time it would be tough for Florida to recruit anyone else.

Q: Do you think Patric Young comes back next year or leaves early?
A: At the beginning of the year, I would have said he leaves. But now, I think he comes back. He’s got the ability, but I think he’ll benefit mentally from one more year of college.

Q: What are players that Florida is very interested in 2014 and 2015?
A: I’ll just list several players for both classes.

2014
C Jahlil Okafor
PF Kevin Looney
SF Justise Winslow
SG Rashad Vaughn
PG Joel Berry
SG Grayson Allen
C Trayvon Reed
SG Isaiah Whitehead

2015
