Florida Clinches Share of SEC Regular Season Championship

The Florida Gators clinched a share of the SEC regular-season championship with their 111–77 win over Arkansas on Saturday night, marking their first conference regular-season title since 2014 and the eighth in program history.

Head coach Todd Golden addressed the sold-out crowd during the championship presentation.

“First of all, we’re incredibly grateful for the support that you guys gave our team from the start of the season until tonight. We have the best home court advantage in college basketball,” Golden said.

“I’m incredibly proud of these guys for their effort, not just tonight but the whole season.”

Improving to 23–6 (14–2 SEC), the Gators hold a two-game lead over Alabama with two regular-season games remaining. Although Florida defeated Alabama 100–77 earlier this season, the Crimson Tide can still claim a share of the regular-season title should they win their final two games while Florida loses both.

Florida has secured the No.1 seed in the SEC Tournament due to their head-to-head victory over Alabama.

Winners of nine in a row, the Gators close out the regular season with a home matchup against Mississippi State and a road contest at Kentucky.
