Five Gators honored in SEC awards haul

After posting a 16–2 conference record and claiming the program’s eighth SEC regular-season title, Florida men’s basketball earned several conference honors including three All-SEC selections and four individual league awards.

Head coach Todd Golden was named SEC Coach of the Year, becoming the first Gator to earn the honor since Mike White in 2017. Golden is the fourth different Florida head coach to win the award and the seventh recipient in program history.

Junior center Rueben Chinyelu earned SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Second Team All-SEC honors after averaging 11.4 points, 11.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. Chinyelu is just the third Gator to win Defensive Player of the Year, joining Patric Young (2014) and Corey Brewer (2006).

Junior guard Urban Klavzar became the programs fourth recipient of the SEC’s Sixth-Man of the Year Award, joining Canyon Barry, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Chris Richard. Klavzar averaged 9.9 points on an efficient 40.6% shooting from three-point range.

Junior forward Thomas Haugh earned First Team All-SEC after leading the Gators in scoring at 17.2 points per game including 13 games this season with 20+ points. Haugh is the fourth different player to earn first-team All-SEC honors in four seasons under Golden, joining Walter Clayton Jr. (2025), Zyon Pullin (2024) and Colin Castleton (2023).

Junior forward Alex Condon has picked up SEC postseason honors every year of his collegiate career. He earned third-team All-SEC honors for the second straight year after earning All-Freshman honors in 2024. Condon’s 15.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in league play both ranked second on the team. He is also one of two major conference players averaging at least 14 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game overall this season (Cameron Boozer, Duke).
