Devoe sets up Florida Gators hoops visit

This spring 2018 point guard Michael Devoe has made a name for himself. Devoe has been impressive in the EYBL sessions for Nike South Beach. The 6’4 guard has generated a lot of buzz due to his size and playmaking ability. Devoe caught up with GatorCountry.com to break down the EYBL session and talk about an upcoming visit.

Despite his team going 1-3 in LA this past weekend Devoe had some impressive games, including a 31 point performance in a game against Team Melo.

“It was great 3rd session,” Devoe said. “Unfortunately we went 1-3, but I played tremendous by averaging 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists. It’s great to play with guys like Khavon Moore and Serrell Smith that because it takes the load off me. Khavon just got on the team so the team chemistry was just being built with him.”

The strong spring from Devoe has led to many teams being in hot pursuit of his services. While in LA Devoe checked out USC on an unofficial visit. Devoe has set up a June 4th unofficial visit to Florida.

“I’m looking forward to visiting Florida and my mom is too,” he said. “I love the Florida staff too they make me feel like they are family. Florida has been a special program for many years. I’m just excited to see the campus and get a feel of it.”
Devoe is looking to continue to add on to the positive momentum he has for the rest of the spring. Devoe told GatorCountry.com he will cut his list down after the AAU season comes to an end.
INSIDERS TAKE: Expect the Gators to be on the list that Devoe releases after his season with Nike South Beach. He has a great relationship with the Florida staff and speaks highly on the direction of the program. Wake Forest, USC, Georgia Tech, Uconn, UCF, and Ohio State are some teams that are recruiting Devoe hard along with the Gators.
