The Florida Gators basketball staff picked up commitment number one for the 2018 class on Monday night.
Point guard Andrew Nembhard (6-4, 185, Thornhill, ON Montverde Academy) committed to the Florida Gators on Monday night after he took an official visit to Florida this past weekend.
“First, I would like to show my appreciation to all the schools that took the time to recruit me,” Nembhard said. “I’d like to thank Coach Boyle, Coach Gus, Coach Gad, Coach Marvin, Coach Nate and all the people who took time their developing me into becoming the player I am today. I’d also like to give thanks to my parents, brother and rest of my family for pushing me everyday, supporting me, and sacrificing a lot to get me to where I am today both on and off the court. Finally, I am grateful and excited to announce my commitment to the University of Florida! #GoGators.”
Nembhard committed to Florida over USC, Gonzaga, and Ohio State on Monday after he took official visits to all three schools.
After reclassifying from the 2019 class a few months ago, Nembhard really saw his recruitment blow up, including the Gators jumping in on recruitment.
Gators head coach Mike White will be adding a top 100 ranked player in Nembhard who possesses excellent passing skills and is known as being an effective defender.
Stay tuned to GatorCountry.com as the Gators could add another member to the class on Tuesday night when guard Noah Locke makes his decision following his official visit to Gainesville this past weekend.
