The Gators have now been ranked in all six preseason polls, as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association ranked them seventh and the USA TODAY Sports coaches poll voted them No. 10.
UF was previously ranked No. 6 by Collegiate Baseball, No. 6 by Baseball America, No. 9 by D1Baseball and No. 23 by Perfect Game.
The Gators are the sixth-highest ranked of the eight SEC teams in the coaches poll and the fifth-highest ranked of eight SEC teams in the NCBWA poll. Texas is ranked No. 1 in both polls.
The Gators will play seven teams that are ranked in the top-25 of both polls: No. 2 Vanderbilt, No. 3 Mississippi State, No. 4 Arkansas, No. 7/8 LSU, No. 14/15 Florida State, No. 16 Tennessee and No. 17/22 Georgia.
Florida returns 19 players from the 2021 squad that earned the opportunity to host a regional but went 0-2 in the postseason. Among those returnees are six offensive starters and ace pitcher Hunter Barco.
Additionally, the Gators have welcomed in a 16-player freshmen class that was ranked No. 1 in the country by Perfect Game and No. 2 by D1Baseball and Baseball America.
The Gators will open their season at home against Liberty on Feb. 18.
