Gators baseball falls out of top 25

Gators coach Kevin O’Sullivan has led Florida to four straight College World Series appearance and heading into the 2013 season, he knew his team would have to be patient with a young but talented squad.

However, the Gators have gotten off to an unprecedented rocky start to this year, losing four straight games including a weekend sweep at the hands of Florida Gulf Coast.

At 3-5, Florida has now dropped out of the Perfect Game, Baseball America and Coaches polls.

This is the first time since April 2009 that the Gators are unranked in the Baseball America Top 25 Poll.

Florida Gulf Coast, which swept Florida this past weekend, made its first ever appearance in the Baseball America poll at No. 23.
